Pamphobeteus platyomma is considered a medium to fast-growing species with the females reaching maturity in 3-5 years. The males of the species will reach maturity faster than the females ranging from 2-4 years of age. The time to reach maturity greatly depends on the temperature of their habitat and their feeding schedule (the higher the temperature and the more they are fed, the faster they will grow). With pamphobeteus platyomma being a bird eater this species of spider can reach a stocky size of 7 to 8 inches.
